More about Ari (they/she/he).

Ari is a creative professional and non-profit grant writer living in Los Angeles on unceded Chumash land. Ari’s non-profit career has spanned communications and development roles focused on child health, racial equity, childhood trauma, and homelessness. At the same time, they are fulfilling lifelong dreams as a writer and artist.

Past works include The Vagina Narrative, an autobiographical solo show exploring Ari’s vagina through storytelling, spoken word and puppetry, which won him a Molly Thacher award for theater arts.

Works in progress include an illustrated poetry anthology (Something About Becoming) and young adult novel (The Last Generation).

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Vassar College, Ari earned their Bachelor’s degree in 2013 in Psychology and Drama. Ari is from Newton Massachusetts on Pawtucket land where she grew up an oversharing Cuban Jew on her mama’s side and overintellectualizing Jew on their dad’s.

Ari still likes patterns and flowers, and has now lost all wisdom and baby teeth.
